Carbon Clutch
1987 saw the first ever Formula 1 victory by a car using a carbon fibre Racing Clutch. The clutch was made by Tilton Engineering.
In the last 10 years Tilton have developed a complete range of Carbon Fibre, Sintered Metallic and "Button" type racing clutches which are winning all round the world.
Note that torque capacity of the clutch depends on the number of plates in the clutch - usually 1 to 4 plates - and the strength and ratio of the diaphragm spring.
Tilton clutches are suitable for Racing V8s, 2 Litre Touring Cars, Open Wheel racers of any type, Oval Track, Rally cars, Off-Road race cars - just about any competition application.
